The world of software engineers
I recently thought about civil engineers and their mad skills to keep humankind operational and safe.
Stop and think about it for a minute. When have you had a real issue with roads, networks, buildings, bridges, airports, sewage systems, or any of the other things civil engineers create and maintain?
No matter where you go, most of these work the same way. There’s windows and doors in the buildings that open with familiar user interaction. There’s stairs, escalators, and elevators you use to get up and down. Floors are familiar to walk on, and you don’t usually need to consider falling through it. Man, these things are even designed against earthquakes and other natural disasters.
You can recognize roads, bridges, railroads everywhere, and they’re more or less intuitive to use - even if the traffic is on the wrong side of the road in some areas.
Sockets for electricity, bathrooms, and toilettes may differentiate depending on the area but are still intuitive.
What if software engineers would replace all the civil engineers…
What would the world look like?
